Plain-English summary

AbsenteeAlerts sells one-time downloads of absentee-owner property lists compiled from public county records. The personal data we collect from you is the email address you enter — to send your free sample, your payment link, and your purchased file — together with basic order details (which county list you asked for, and when). We don't sell it, we don't share it for marketing, and you can have it deleted at any time by replying to one of our emails.

Who is responsible for your data (controller)

AbsenteeAlerts is an independent project operated by a sole operator based in Barcelona, Spain. As the operator is established in the European Union, this service handles your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), even though the product is aimed at users in the United States. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@funhelps.com, or simply reply to any email we send you.

What we collect

  • Your email address — provided by you when you request a free sample or place an order.
  • Order & request details — which county list you asked for, whether it was a free sample or a purchase, and the timestamp, so we can fulfil and support your request.
  • A short anonymous reference code may be appended to the link in our outreach emails (e.g. ?ref=...). It is a one-way hash and is used only to count how many people visited the page. It does not contain or reveal your email address.

We do not store your raw IP address. Earlier versions logged it; we have stopped doing so. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or cookies for profiling.

Why we collect it (purpose & legal basis)

We use your data to (a) send the free sample and product information you asked for — legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the consent box; and (b) process and deliver any purchase you make, including emailing your payment link and your CSV — legal basis: performance of a contract with you. You can withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (see below); withdrawing it does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal, nor our completion of an order you placed.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or share your email for marketing. Your email is handled through our email provider (Google / Gmail) to send and receive the messages described above. When you make a purchase, payment is handled by a third-party payment provider (such as PayPal): you complete payment on their platform under their own privacy terms, and we receive only confirmation that the payment was made.

How long we keep it (retention)

We keep your email and order details for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet any legal or accounting obligations for completed purchases. If you ask us to remove you, we delete your data (other than records we must retain for a completed sale). If you only requested a free sample and never purchase, you can have your data deleted on request at any time.

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access — ask what data we hold about you.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Rectification — ask us to correct your email if it's wrong.
  • Withdraw consent / object — ask us to stop emailing you.
  • Portability — ask for a copy of the email you gave us.

To exercise any of these, just reply to any email from us or write to support@funhelps.com. We action erasure requests promptly. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above.
